Job Title : Systems Biology
Qualification: M. Sc in Biochemistry/Cell Biology/Biotechnology; Fresh Ph. D may be considered if relevant research experience is demonstrated
Experience: Must. Prefer 5-10 years of hands-on laboratory experience in relevant NCE drug discovery work in pharmaceutical industry
Job Description :
Role :
- Responsible for optimizing and running NCE screening assays on various therapeutic targets
- To conduct enzyme/receptor based biochemical/cell-based assays and provide SAR support for drug discovery programs through the lead optimization process
- Thorough characterization of bio-assay reagents
- Prepare test compounds for biochemical/cell-based assays
- Coordinate testing of compounds through multiple bioassays
- Assisting the lab-in-charge in laboratory administration (procurement of material, AMC, lab maintenance, etc.,)
- Meticulous data analysis, organization and storage
Skill Set:
- Basic understanding of drug discovery process and well versed in handling purified proteins, cell lines and membrane preparations
- Familiarity with multiple and diverse bioassay techniques for study of enzymes, kinases, GPCR’s, Ion channels and nuclear hormone receptors
- Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, cell-based assays of various types, stable cell line generation, radio-labeled binding assays, enzymatic assays, ELISA, HTRF
- Equally comfortable with cell-based and biochemical assays
- Clear understanding of assay validation parameters, and statistical data analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Graphpad Prism and other scientific software for data analysis
- Excellent interpersonal skills, good team worker and effective communication skills
- Ability to lead a team of 2-3 staff, if and when the need arises. Need demonstrated and proven managerial abilities for the same.
- Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks in research laboratories
